If you are curious about how to feel better naturally and defy aging, lifestyle solutions may be the key to realizing your inner power. Special actions can target declines that often start near midlife, and are likely to be vital for a healthy lifestyle after 40.


To best nurture wellness, use a holistic approach.

Body

  • Do at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity per week. Exercise is good for muscle strength, power, tone, and fitness, and can be especially important to combat the declines that often start in middle age.

  • Try yoga, as regular practice can help improve posture, flexibility, and balance, and may help you stay limber as you age.

Making an effort to look well-groomed can work magic on your appearance.

  • Engage your core to improve your posture. Regular dental hygiene appointments and a daily oral health routine may help your teeth and gums to appear more youthful. Both good posture and a nice smile makes a person more attractive.

  • Avoid the aging effects of smoke exposure, unprotected sun exposure, and drinking 8 or more servings of alcohol per week. Invest in a flattering hat and sunscreen.

  • Keep your skin and hair well moisturized.

  • The right hairstyle and eyewear can take years off your look.

  • Be sure you have proper fitting undergarments.

  • Wear comfort shoes that also look chic.

  • Consider to develop a signature style so you can dress smart and always look well-groomed.

  • A curated closet or a capsule wardrobe should help you to assemble outfits that fit and accentuate your best features.

Supply your body with the best fuel.

  • Watch out for inadequate nutrient intake (of protein, vitamin D, B vitamins, omega-3...)

  • Drink well for proper hydration.

  • Choose to eat foods that are good sources of antioxidants.

  • Avoid pro-inflammatory foods and dietary factors.

  • Consume healthy oils such as extra virgin olive oil.

  • Prepare foods and drinks using natural flavors from herbs and spices.

  • Mindful eating matters, as dietary habits can impact appearance, behavior, and mood.

Experience the rejuvenating benefits of quality sleep.

  • Regular exercise and a consistent sleep schedule are good habits worth developing.

  • Design your bedroom to be an environment for sleeping. Include sensory elements to calm and comfort, such as aromatherapy and soft sheets.

  • A wind-down routine can help you relax before bedtime to sleep better.

  • Taking a hot bath about 90 minutes before bed could help you fall asleep more quickly.

Monitor your health with regular check-ups.

  • Assure your hormones are in balance.

  • Avoid polymedication.

Mind

Maintain a positive mindset.

  • Practice self-love and self-care. Discover your inner strength. Nurture self-confidence.

  • Be conscious of your words. Affirmations may help upgrade your self-talk.

  • Stop frowning, start smiling.

  • Be curious. Stay inspired. Keep having new experiences. Learn something new everyday.

  • Think of age as just a number. Help evolve the world to change aging stereotypes.

Practice mindfulness in daily life.

  • Live consciously being present in the moment.

  • Notice the beauty around you. Express gratitude.

  • Be aware and find ways to cope when you feel stress. Journaling, meditation, and breathwork may offer relief.

  • Set healthy boundaries. Learn to say no.

  • Act with integrity.

Spirit

Find your purpose and passion in life.

  • Live joyfully. Fulfill your desires. Pursue your vision.

  • Elevate your vibration by feeling joy, unconditional love, and kindness. Do activities to uplift your mood, such as laughing, playing music, and dancing.
